This is a known issue and easily solved (how to run Shockwave on an Intel Mac ).
After downloading the Installer for Mac OS X an icon should appear on your desktop:
Double click the Installer and you should see a dialogue box similar to the picture below.
Instead of choosing Install, click on the Easy Install popup menu and choose Uninstall:
.Click the Uninistall button:
NOTE: After uninstalling you may get a message saying that not all items could be deleted. Ignore it.
Double click the Installer again and this time choose Easy Install and Install:
