Volcanalia
The festival of the god Volcanus or Vulcan, the god of fire and volcanoes. Volcanus had a temple and a priest at Rome, and his own festival day - appropriately enough in August, at the hottest time of the year. The animal sacrifice offered at this festival was an unusual one, with live fish being thrown on to a fire.
